Accommodations

The Riverview Bed and Breakfast is a spacious log home with three comfortable bedrooms and six cabin rooms detached from the main house. We are a smoke, alcohol and drug free establishment. There is an excellent restuarant in an historical lodge about a mile from Riverview where dinners and sandwhiches are served.

Riverview also provides a facility with a rec room containing excercise equipment, refrigerator, microwave, and surround sound DVD/TV viewing.

“Very nice experience here”

I thought this location might be difficult for finding a quality B&B, but the Riverview changed my mind. Homer and his son, Patrick, have a top-notch property right on the river. We were invited to explore the grounds, and to visit Homer's extensive garden. He is apparently an excellent gardener based on the bounty we found there. Homer showed us our cabin (#2 by the river) and the rec center. Here we found a large-screen TV for communal viewing, a full-sized pool table, and a wonderful workout room with lots of quality equipment for guest use. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a home-cooked breakfast of bacon and made-from-scratch pecan waffles. The dining area has a beautiful view of the mountains (weather permitting) and many of the mounted local game Homer and Patrick have hunted. We felt the room rate for such a nice place was very reasonable, and we would gladly stay here again if traveling this way.

“This is how I pictured Alaska! ”

Homer and Patrick were so interesting. It was great to meet people who live in Alaska all year round and learn what it is really like..the cold in winter, gardening and putting up food and wood for the winter, etc. Lots of animal heads in main house, even a walrus! (in case that bothers you, but what I was expecting in Alaska.). Genuine, down to earth people. Beautiful spot on the river. Loved room 3 where we could sit on porch overlooking Copper River. Walked up the river to see a salmon wheel. Wish we could have stayed longer. Good breakfast!

“Great B&B, great people!”

We spent a night at Riverview in early July. The room was very comfortable, the club house and gym provided excellent extra curricular options, and the riverside setting is marvelous. Breakfast was tasty and refreshing and included home grown fruit and vegetables. But above all Patrick and father are wonderful people - really nice and welcoming, very knowledgeable and available for any need or advice, and were fascinating to talk to. A very highly recommended place to stay during your Alaska trip.
